youth journal

our journal

Tellura publishes a regular journal of works written by students from grades 9 to 12, and edited by undergraduate students. Undergraduate students work closely with the writers to ensure that their work is clear, accurate, and applies the concepts that are discussed in our guides and blog posts. This is an opportunity for younger students to learn about science writing from mentors, and have their work publicized.

Applications for our next youth journal issue have recently opened. Submit your work using the button below. If deemed appropriate, your work will be edited by a McMaster University undergraduate student and then published in the next issue of our youth journal. If you have questions, please email tellura@mcmaster.ca. Applications close January 31, 2024 at 11:59 ET!

You can submit any example of scientific writing that you have produced, whether it is a lab report you did in class, an abstract you wrote on a study, an article you wrote examining other studies, or an interview you conducted with someone in STEM. Please remember to cite your sources, in a widely accepted format (examples include NLM, APA, MLA, etc). Please note that your citations should include credible sources, such as reputable websites, published articles, or studies.
